Garden City is a village on Long Island in New York. The historical village, home to over 22,000 residents, was founded in 1869. It features many parks ands recreation areas, as well as historical areas, making it an area of charm and adventure at the same time.
Garden City Public Schools provide education services to the area. Adelphi University was the first four year college to be implemented in the Nassau or Suffolk counties.
For those interested in science and learning there is the Cradle of Aviation Museum featuring a full planetarium and many scientific exhibits. Children will also enjoy the fun and exciting adventures at the Long Island Children's Museum. Roosevelt Field is one of the premier shopping malls in the area and is known for being built on the former airfield that saw Charles Lindbergh leave on his famous transatlantic flight in 1927.
